Innovation in East Oakland - Fremont on KQED
Media Academy students partnered with Pilot city and InstaVr to pitch their Virtual Reality app ideas during our Hack Day with Pilot City and InstaVr. The Telepresence Robot is back!
25 years ago a KQED reporter visited the Media Academy at Fremont High School to talk to the "MTV Generation." The reporter talked to the students back then about emerging technologies like the Internet and cellular phones. Take a listen to their report on the MTV Generation here.
KQED returned to the Media Academy Thursday, March 22, to interview students as part of the "Reassessing Our Relationship With Technology" series.
Media Academy Seniors and the Bay Area Chapter of NOBLE (National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives) came together to develop, strengthen and revitalize community and law enforcement relations.
Media Seniors participated in an interactive series of classes where students learned new communication tools, increased their knowledge of basic federal, state and local laws from October 2017 - February 9th, 2018.
International Commercial Photographer and Social Media Influencer, Andy To visited the campus of Fremont High on December 8th to speak with students about his career and his personal journey while at Fremont. Andy opened up about the teachers and staff that supported him in making positive life altering decisions. Shout out to Mr. Eric Dubois!
Andy promises to return to the campus to speak with more students in the future but as a world-famous photographer and videographer you never know what part of the world one may be in at any given time.
