Assistant Principal Anita
Ms. Anita Feingold- Shaw
Anita Feingold-Shaw is joining Fremont High’s administrative team after 17 years in public education. Anita grew up in Berkeley, California and graduated from the University of Michigan with a BA in Anthropology. After graduation she became a New York City Teaching Fellow and taught in performance- based assessment schools in both Brooklyn and Manhattan for six years. She returned to her sunny home state of California and began teaching, leading, and learning in San Francisco Unified.
Anita has a passion for education and has traveled internationally to several countries including Guatemala, Japan, and Germany, to explore how to best cultivate learning environments that serve all students in authentic ways. She is deeply interested in inquiry- based teaching practices, student- driven curriculum, facilitating powerful communities of practice for adults, and the process of articulating, defining, and honoring academic excellence.
Anita is an Adjunct Professor at the University of San Francisco where she teaches new educators .She is deeply appreciative of her mentors and is honored and delighted to join the Fremont team!
