Mr. Derek Boyd

Derek Boyd joins the Fremont Tigers after over a decade in the classroom and of supporting teachers in schools.  He is a proud OUSD graduate of Skyline High School and has had the privilege of being an Oakland educator since he graduated from college. 

After graduating from UC Santa Cruz, Derek came back to Oakland, first as a substitute teacher, then as a high school math teacher and Advisor at both Youth Empowerment School (YES) and Met West High School.  After receiving a math teaching credential from San Francisco State, he earned an Administrative Services credential from Cal State East Bay. He loves working in the city that raised him and is happy to be raising his two boys in his hometown.
